Baby Maggie actually turned 2. It's shocking, I know. I am so grateful she's mine and that she's no longer 18 months. I don't get the label "terrible 2's!" My children have proven to be the most difficult between 18 months and 2 years old. Meg is turning back into an angel and we adore her again
(Not that we didn't adore her for the past 6 months... but... well... maybe not as much as now...). Maggie has many words to say and loves animals. Can you believe it? One of OUR kids liking animals. She loves to play "medicine" (magnets) and will sit in front of the fridge for 20 minutes kissing each magnet and saying, "I 'ove you froggie. I 'ove you much." followed by another kiss. It's terribly cute. Makes me want to squish her every time. My favorite word she currently says is "Elephant." You know why? Because it sounds exactly like "Andrew." It's wonderful. Little brother Andrew has been working with her on fixing this pronunciation problem. But it's just not working. So Ryan's getting Drew the Jenny Craig number. Mags sleeps great at night (finally!) and spends most of her time coloring during the day. She's usually covered in markers. And I have learned to take a lot of Zen pills so I don't flip out... and to use gallons of stain remover on her clothes. Most of it comes out:). Mags loves nursery... doesn't even look back when she arrives. She likes babies and to say, "No sop it." in this terribly angelic voice. But she's usually glaring at us. Anyway... she's pretty cute.
Since Maggie's birthday was on a Sunday this year we celebrated Saturday by going to This is the Place Heritage Park. It was so much fun! We just went at the pace of the kids and did what they wanted the whole time and we had a wonderful time. Most of the time was spent in the petting zoo, as could be expected. It was hard to get good pictures of Maggie since she was always on the run.
Mining for gold
Where's Maggie?
In the kid's play area Tic found a baby rattlesnake. It was pretty exciting and a little scary. I was so grateful Ryan was right there when Atticus said, "Look a snake!" and tried to get close. We called the park and they sent someone right away to dispose of the creature.
Then Sunday we sang and gave her gifts. It was a fun two days.
Maggie loves to pretend she's a kitty (her meows are to die for) so we did these very easy kitty cupcakes.
Ryan and I gave her an art desk. She likes it. But everything about her birthday was SERIOUS. So she didn't smile for us:). Too much to take in.
Ah, loved reading those updates about Maggie! And a little sad to have missed most of it. We miss you guys!
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes are adorable! A most happy birthday to Maggie. She's a doll!
Loved sharing your day at the Heritage Park (even though you didn't mention that fact . . . hmmmmmm . . . ) The rattlesnake was most exciting! And the best part was watching the kids with the animals. Maggie is such a dolly, even with her scowls!
