If my honey were to die today I think I would forever remember him as he is in this picture.
He's so freaking handsome. I just had to say it. He's attractive.
I love the fall. Our neighborhood has HUGE trees in most of the yards with TONS of orange and yellow leaves piled high below their branches. I love it. I love the cool air. I love that sweaters have been pulled out again. And Halloween! I'm sad that we can't be with any family this year, but still. HALLOWEEN.
And I love that my birthday come just before Halloween. Because sometimes I've been really lucky to receive holiday decor as gifts. This pumpkin was from Mama Strong last year. Love it.
And my Mom gave me these witch shoes last year. She's so sweet! I mentioned once that I wanted to collect witch stuff and since has found a witch gift each year. Love them. Kind of wish I had shoes just like these!
Maybe we'll be home and will actually give candy out this year:). That would be a first. I hope the little churchlynns enjoy trick or treating. But I'm worried. Jo just notified me that she no longer wants to be a panda bear princess. She doesn't want her face painted, she doesn't want to be silly, she does not want to dress up and get candy. As of today she wants nothing to do with it. Does that mean I can be a panda bear princess and take her trick or treating place? I'm willing.
We carved pumpkins a week ago for FHE.
We carved pumpkins a week ago for FHE.
They started growing hair out of their mouths and melting disgusting fluids onto our counter tops. So they are now in the garbage. Actually by now they're at the local landfill. But here they are before their mutations took over.
Ryan's pirate is pretty sweet. I named mine "Bella" because she can't quite close her mouth and looks a little like she's grown some rabbit teeth. Ry asked Jo what face her pumpkin should have. Sad. A sad face. What kid chooses that?
She was pretty stinkin' cute carrying around her tiny pumpkin for the next few days.
And here's Maggie in the super-cute Halloween onesie Jen sent her, complete with ballerina socks, also sent by Jen.
Another thing I absolutely love about fall is the harvest. We don't have a garden or fruit trees, but we know nice people who do. We've been given apples, tomatoes, peaches, plums, and peppers. I just finished drying lots of the apples. So yummy.
And FYI- Ryan did not go to school dressed in the below attire. It was crazy hair day and when he refused to wear the shown wig I posted it for his students to see. Boring old Ryan. The pictures were from the Strong Family Halloween Party a couple of weeks ago.
Happy Septober!
Looking at your pictures made me kind of sad :( I haven't seen your cute house all decorated for Halloween. And I won't get to. BOO. (And that isn't a ghostly boo, but a sad boo.) But there will be other years, right?
ReplyDeleteYour punkins look fabulous. We haven't done any yet. Too bad about Jo's lack of enthusiasm. Maybe she'd rather be a princess?
And yes, Ryan looks very attractive out there in the leaves, doing what he loves to do.
I miss you.
Loved this post Ames. Fall is the best. But what about the septober party? I am sad if that will not be this year. Your decorations are so cute. I especially love the wicked one. And those photos of Ryan are perfection. Good work. Sorry about Jo. Silly girl-- candy! I bet she will get excited when she sees how it all works. Love ya!
ReplyDeletePS mags is looking chunky! It's been so long since we've seen you guys-- it's like she won't even recognize me anymore. :)
ReplyDeleteAh- great post! I'm sad we won't get to be together with you guys for Septober this year. Let's make up for it as soon as we can! I also love your Halloween decorations - there are several I want to steal, so... if some suddenly go missing... I don't know. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're a better mom than me - I tell Elena what she's going to be and I tell her she's going trick or treating and she's going to have fun. :) Haha. Maybe I should work on that. If she didn't want to participate, I think her dad would probably go on some sort of psychopathic rampage and then melt into a very sad puddle on the floor. There are some strong feelings about Halloween in this house (possibly not all normal or healthy ;)). Anyways, I'm with Christy, I bet once she sees how the trick or treating works, she will love it. Candy! We've gotten out our bowl of trick or treating candy and gotten Elena's little "collection bucket" and gone and pretended to trick or treat at the door to her room and let her try both sides of it. I think it really has helped. Before when we talked to her about it she totally didn't get it and didn't really care. But now she's excited. And I think she has the drill down. It was funny - at first she said, "Trick or treating" instead of "Trick or treat". It took a while, but I think she's got it. :) Anyways, maybe something like that would get Jo more in the mood?
I agree that those pictures of Ryan are awesome. I LOVE that he's reading in the middle of all that. :) Although, from reading certain comments, it sounds like some people may be planning on going back on certain pacts they made after certain Stephanie Nielson firesides. And it sounds like I'm going to have to step into my role as enforcer. Don't worry Amy, I've got your back! :D
Love you guys!
October is my favorite month EVER. Your house always looks so cute for Halloween, wish we could come see it. Sorry to hear about the mutated pumpkins, sounds gross. I like the pictures of Ryan. Didn't break character for a second. Haha. Ok, we love you guys.
